Ascot Ahoy!

We’re all set for our second yearling sale of the season at Tattersalls Ascot. Wagons rolled very early on Sunday with our eight yearlings aboard and they are now safely settled at Ascot ahead of what we hope will be a busy viewing day on Monday.

We really couldn't be happier with how they look. We have a very smart colt by Due Diligence (pictured) who sired his first group winner on Saturday when Streamline won the G3 Sirenia Stakes, and the stallion has already been represented by Good Vibes, winner of the listed Marygate Stakes, from his first crop. Our other three colts are by Bungle Inthejungle, who has already proved he is more than capable of getting a good two-year-old, first-season sire Prince Of Lir, and Fountain Of Youth. We also have four fillies by Bungle Inthejungle, Holy Roman Emperor and the freshman sires Markaz and Adaay.

Looking ahead to Newmarket in October we have 10 yearlings for Book 1, nine for Book 2 and another 14 for Book 3, so there’s plenty still to do on the farm for the team of us back there this week while Jenny oversees the yearlings selling at Ascot.

On the racecourse it has been good to see some Norris/Huntingdon clients' horses running well recently. Golden Dragon, whom we helped owners Happy Valley Racing & Breeding to select at the Guineas Breeze-up Sale in May, won his second race from just three starts, while Rhythmic Intent has also won recently for the same connections.

It was also really lovely to see our former October Book 1 co-sale topper Glorious Journey win another group race for Charlie Appleby when landing the G2 Hungerford Stakes. Let’s hope that we see plenty of this year’s sale graduates going on to be successful for their new owners.
