Bound for Bordeaux

As ever, the sales season is a busy time of the year. I had an enjoyable day with Richard Kent at Mickley Stud this week, viewing the farm’s mares and young stock and also seeing their new stallion, Yorgunnebelucky, for the first time.

It was good to see the stud’s stalwart Multiplex, too. Jenny and I are selling a strong filly by him out of our mare Nut in Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Sale (Lot 1613), whose full-sister Captain Caroline won last year.

As you can see from the accompanying photo, it’s still full steam ahead at Clairemont Stud as we continue the preparation of our draft for Tattersalls. We’re selling five yearlings in Book 1 and three in Book 2 and will be stabled in block M, so please make sure you come to see us once the sale gets underway.

This week, William and I are on our travels again, back to France but farther south to La Teste de Buch near Bordeaux for the Osarus Yearling Sale.

It’s a first visit to the sale for me and I’m looking forward to seeing what it has to offer. We’ve been lucky buying in France and if the yearling sale is anything like the Osarus breeze-up sale in Pornichet in April, there’ll be some nice individuals selling for reasonable prices.

We’d be delighted to look at horses for any trainers or owners who are unable to make the trip to Bordeaux. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can be of any help.
