Just one more foal to come!

We’re holding out for our final foal who should be born in the next week or so and I have to say we have a really lovely crop of foals on the ground this year, including first foals for some of our own mares. I’m particularly pleased with a strong Bobby’s Kitten filly (pictured right) from our Spanish Guineas winner Vallila, which makes her a second generation homebred. Salome, who we bought from Haras du Quesnay two years ago, also had a super filly by Havana Gold and she looks incredibly athletic in the field.

Another horse we bred, the four-year-old Prost, ran a good race on Saturday to be second at Lingfield and I can see him adding this his wins’ tally as the season goes on.

I’ll also be keeping a close eye on Via Serendipity, a horse we bought for Happy Valley Racing & Breeding who has already won for them and ran a really good race for Stuart Williams to be a close-up fifth in the ultra-competitive Victoria Cup on Saturday.

Once the final foal arrives I’m looking forward to spending a couple of days in Normandy catching up on our stock down there. We have a Myboycharlie colt – a half-brother to Prost – from Plebeya this year and a Rajsaman yearling filly who is likely to be heading to the Arqana October Sale. Her half-brother by Dabirsim sold for €85,000 at Osarus last year so I hope she will be equally popular!
