Press Release: New base for Norris Bloodstock

Liam and Jenny Norris have moved to Granham Farm in Marlborough and will be consigning under their own Norris Bloodstock banner at forthcoming sales.

The husband-and-wife team has accrued a wealth of experience at Highclere Stud, Oaklands Farm, the Irish National Stud, and most recently ran a successful operation from Clairemont Stud, which was sold last month. At Granham Farm, which is being leased from David and Dawn Hearson, the couple will run a boutique boarding, spelling and consigning business.

During their time at Clairemont Stud, Liam and Jenny had the pleasure of consigning the dual Oaks winner Dancing Rain at the 2013 Tattersalls December Sale, where she was sold with a Frankel cover for 4 million guineas.

Dancing Rain was selected as a yearling by Liam, who works as a bloodstock agent and pinhooker in partnership with William Huntingdon. Together they bought last year’s outstanding juvenile Shalaa as a foal and consigned him as a yearling through Clairemont Stud.

Other successful Norris/Huntingdon purchases include the Group performers Hors De Combat, Leaupartie and Holy Dazzle, who was bought as a yearling for €25,000 and recently sold for €140,000 at the 2015 Arqana December Sale.

Commenting on their new business venture, Jenny Norris said, “We are very grateful to have been given the opportunity to lease David and Dawn’s beautiful property, which is on good land, is very well appointed and has already produced a top-class horse in the Group 1 winner Aqlaam.

“We’re up and running already with some boarding mares alongside our own mares, and a number of pinhooked foals, both for ourselves and for some of Liam’s sales clients. We’re fortunate to be in a tranquil spot close to Manton and Beckhampton and not too far from Lambourn, with easy access to the M4 for taking mares to be covered in Newmarket or elsewhere.”
